This week I worked on getting all of the shop signs hung up because graphics was finally able to get the signs to me. Bella, Kim, and I walked around the entire shop to determine the best method for hanging up the signs in the various places. For some areas, there was no real wall space to just tape the sign to the wall. Because of this, I had to figure out a place to hang the signs from above its respective station.

After I figured out how I wanted all the signs to hang, I got to work on hanging them. I started with all the signs that I have to tape to the wall. For the most part, these were all pretty easy to hang up. There were some areas like behind the laser cutters, the resin printers, and the spray booth in the machine shop because they were the tightest spaces with little to no standing room to get behind and actually hang it up. Even with that though, I was able to get the signs up and, with Kim's help, make sure they were all even.

After these signs were hung up, I got to work on all of the hanging signs that needed to go up. I started with the signs in the machine shop. For these hanging signs, it was, expectedly, far more difficult to get up because of how high the areas were. To help me with this, Mr. L suggested that I tie one end of the sign's hanging string to an object and throw it over the place it needed to hang, then tape it at the level I wanted it at. This worked for many of the signs I had to put up. The only flaw with this was that a few times when I threw the object, it got stuck between some other wires or pipes on the ceiling. But I was able to push them out pretty easily with a broom handle. For many of the signs in the rest of the shop, I had to ask for Matt's help to hang them all up because I was unable to hang them the way I wanted to hang them on my own. Thanks to Matt, Kim, and Bella (she helped with the positioning of signs as well), I was able to get all of the shop signs up in two days.

Since I'm done putting up all the shop signs, I decided to look for a new project. I still need lots of decor for my room so I decided that I wanted to make a wooden poster of some sorts. The picture below is just a reference of what a wooden poster is, the poster I want to make will have some engravings, cutouts, acrylic pieces, and 3D aspects to it. I want to base it off a song I really like, "Black Star" by Radiohead. I have not quite finished the design for it yet but once I do I will create the design in CAD then use the laser cutter to complete it.
