This week I continued the project I had started last week. Last week I started working on the CD mirror that I wanted to make for my bedroom. On Monday, I worked on finishing the CAD design of the CD and I attempted to cut it out in cardboard a couple of times. After my initial cut in cardboard, I realized that the lines I was engraving were very faint and unlike what I had hoped for. Once I realized this I had to change my Inkscape design to remedy the problem. I also decided that I wanted to create a frame of sorts for the mirror. While the original photo that I saw did not have the mirror in the frame, I figured that I should make one to make the design look more complete. The frame that I made for it was simple and it was more designed to just hold the acrylic.

Once I was happy with the designs of the CD and the frame, I began to cut them out on the laser cutter. This process was relatively simple, it just took a lot of time to finish the cut/engravement. After all the cuts were finished, I glued the pieces of the frame together and cleaned off the acrylic so it could sit inside the frame. I haven't decided how or if I would glue the acrylic into the frame but for now I'm happy with it not being glued into it.

On Wednesday, I spent the day completing a task for Mr. L. Mr. L asked if anyone wanted to transfer information from one spreadsheet into another for the shop's yearly budget request next year. I had to take elements from a master spreadsheet that listed all of the parts that we had in the shop and transfer the ones we needed to buy again for next year into the budget request sheet. This process was long, but it was enjoyable and simple. I was able to finish inputting everything into the spreadsheet within the day.
