Week of 3/9 - 3/13

This week, we finally finished the assembly of the Word Clock! On Monday, we applied the final layer of wood finish on the Word Clock's frame. We had already completed two coats of finish on the clock the previous week. After the wood finish dried, we began the process of screwing in all of the blocks in their respective places on the frame. In total, we had 121 blocks to place in the frame. Since we had so many blocks to install, it took us about 3 days to complete, as we had to screw in each of the 4 screws to every block.

Thursday

By Thursday, we had finished putting in all the letter blocks; all that was left was to tighten all the nuts on the back of the clock. We had to remove the back mounting panel to do this because we couldn't reach the screws behind them to properly secure them to the board. I was able to remove and replace this component easily, and we tightened all the screws on the board. We were able to test the Word Clock, and we were very happy to see that it worked!
