Week of 11/11 - 11/15

This week we continued work on the Giant Word Clock. We finalized the words that we would put on the Giant Word Clock and arranged the LEDs on the wood board to sit underneath the letters that we've selected for the clock. We wanted our word selection to be somewhat unique and we wanted to be able to show the exact time of the clock. However, we found that it was incredibly difficult to organize every single number from 1 - 59 with this project. So we decided to use easy numbers (multiples of 5) to tell the time of the clock. It would not be the exact time but it is as close as we can get to an exact time. We connected all of the LEDs to the board in the order of the letters that we selected and found that we needed to recut the board to make it larger. Along with this, we decided to build a frame and a box of some sorts for the board of lights to sit in. This would not only give the clock a more complete look, but it would create a place for all of the wires to sit and a place to power the board. Below is the map of the words and letters we used, a brainstorm/idea of what the frame may look like, and the LEDs connections inside the wood board.
