Week of 11/04 - 11/08

This week I started working with Kim and Bella on the giant word clock. The giant word clock was a project started by a previous member of the shop, Grace Kallberg. This week we focused on the design of the letter blocks on the giant word clock. We experimented with different types of materials to use to create the outline of the letters in the block. We found that a piece of acrylic that was spray-painted black produced the best outline of the letter in front of the light. We decided to experiment with some other materials such as wood and found that it didn't produce as clear of an outline as the painted acrylic. Pictured below is the piece that we spray painted.
