Week of 1/6/25 - 1/10/25

This week I started a new project. We recently got a piece of reflective red acrylic in the shop and I decided I wanted to use it to make a mirror and a piece of decoration for my room. This mirror will have the red reflective acrylic in the center and a frame of other pieces of acrylic that surround it like the picture below.

When I first designed the mirror I did a test cut of the design and I realized I made the mirror way too small and the tiles were way too small to use in a frame. I redesigned the sketch in CAD and I recut it in cardboard and the tiles and the size overall was perfect and exactly how I had envisioned it. I plan on cutting out all of the acrylic pieces and gluing them into the wooden base I designed to hold all of the pieces. My final design is pictured below, the tiles surrounding the circle in the middle will be made of white, gold, and the reflective red acrylic pieces.
