Week of 1/19 - 1/23

This was a short week for us in shop. Our long weekend stretched into Tuesday, leaving us two days in shop at the time of this post. This week, we got more of the maps for the Medford Walks project we started a while ago. These next 3 map panels stretch across western MA into New York. Our first task was to pinpoint the cities Mr. Christy wanted us to mark on the maps and orient the signs in the correct way.

After we did this, we decided to make new signs for the states for each of the panels. The first panel we did started in eastern MA so we already had a state sign for that panel. We were left with 3 panels, 1 of which needed a new MA sign while the other 2 needed signs for New York. Bella worked on the sign for MA while I worked on the ones for New York. I decided to copy the design I made for the last New York sign on the old map because the design worked well and I was very proud of it. For the other sign I made it look like a billboard sign.

After we finish the signs for all the cities, we will glue down the signs in their respective areas then seal the maps to prevent the signs from lifting.
